Our Statement of Faith
The Scriptures

The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God and inerrant in the original writing and are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

The Trinity

God is one, eternally existing as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

God

God is creator of all things and upholds all things by the Word of his power.

Jesus

Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sin and separation from God. The Spirit effectively calls the person to repentance and gives new spiritual life to the person as a result of faith. He indwells, guides, instructs, fills, comforts and empowers the believer for godly living.

Man
-
Man was created in the image of God, he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God, that all human beings are born in sin, and that this sinful nature is the origin of all sinful acts in thought, word, and deed.

Salvation

Jesus, the Son of God, paid the price for the punishment of sin through his death, burial and resurrection on the cross. Those whom the Spirit of God works, repent of their sin and believe in Jesus are saved. The grace of God, allows believers to experience freedom from slavery to sin, death, and eternal separation from God. Grace is fully dependent on the work of Jesus and not on any works of man.

Eternity

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

Resurrection
-
Jesus has risen from the dead, proving that he is victorious over death and the evil one. This proves his divine authority over all things. The resurrection was necessary for the forgiveness of sin. His victory over death proved that his atonement was adequate and that those who belong to him will live with God forever.

Return of Christ

Jesus Christ will return at an unknown time in a visible way to all people. This will be his bodily return to earth from heaven. His return will establish peace upon the earth as he reigns, known as the millennial kingdom.

Baptism

Christian baptism is a public declaration of and identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection signified by immersion in water.

Communion

The Lord’s Supper is the commemoration by believers of Christ’s death until He comes and should be preceded by a careful self-examination

The Church
-
The church is the body of Christ, made up of all of those who have genuine faith in Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God is responsible for the church’s beginning and continuation. The church is a new covenant community, made up of members with Spirit-given gifts that are to be used to build up the body. The universal church is united under Jesus Christ and is meant to reflect the holiness of God and is rooted in the teaching of the apostles.

Missions

Realizing that the cause of Christ extends beyond any one local fellowship, we commit ourselves to an ongoing ministry of extending the call of Christ to make disciples around the world.
